In my more than 30 years of doing business across three continents and living for over 20 years in Asia, I had the unique privilege of meeting many young and enthusiastic people. And they all had one thing in common, they gave their best to learn, to improve and advance in their careers and stepping up the social ladder of society to improve their and their families’ lives.
It became apparent to us, that to do just that, the first most critical stepping stone was to get a chance to go through a solid base education, meaning to be able to go to primary and secondary school.
With AdrikkaStar we exactly focus on that base education giving the bright and ambitious teenagers a chance to accomplish the first nine years for their schooling by financing the extra costs needed for the secondary school years.
Since more than ten years I am regularly visiting the North of Bali and until now find Tembok and its surroundings a part of Bali, which makes the island so beautiful with its rich culture, its unique landscape with mountainous conditions to the South and a softer area drifting towards the Java Sea. Accordingly the people are very diverse but all just wonderful.
With all these experiences and admiration for the North, AdrikkaStar was born and through this charitable deed I am able to humbly show my gratitude to the people by giving them something back in supporting needy students entering their secondary education and hopefully enabling them to realize their dreams for life.

My first trip to Bali was in 1980 and ever since I am in awe with the island of gods. Most of my travels were within Asia and since 1994 I can call Singapore my home. Traveling was not only on my holiday plan but also frequently done for business as I was working in tourism for many years.
In 1992 I diverted my career path and became an editor at a leading travel trade magazine in Switzerland. With my move to Singapore I was able to freelance for the same publication which brought me in lots of contacts within the tourism industry throughout Asia, of course including Bali.
Becoming the owner of a villa in Tembok deepened my passion for the Balinese and their beautiful island and I was more and more dedicated to get involved supporting the people in Tembok in one form or the other.
As I strongly believe in education and its positive effects on a whole community, the plan to help financially poor teenagers to be able to go through the secondary school years was not only ideal but as well feasible.
I am happy that with AdrikkaStar we can reach smart and eager young people and make their further study possible.
My dream is to generate enough money as to be able to expand the project to all the villages in the North and eventually to expand the programme to enable the youngsters to pursue even a tertiary education.

Many years I served as a C-level manager for a number of international companies in the field of IT and Telecommunication. Today I am investing money and time in outstanding startups in the fields of Technology and Telecommunication and whenever time allows I travel to Tembok, in the Northeast of Bali.
During my long and successful career I realised how important it is that young people get a fair chance for education and broad skills in many disciplines. Good education is not just the enabler for getting access to work and money, it is much more. Education is the cornerstone for all of us to achieve personal freedom and wealth.
Therefore I actively support the educational and personal development of young Balinese giving them the opportunity to pursue their education into secondary school by funding their extra costs throughout 7th to 9th grade.
I find it very satisfying to be able to help and support a number of young, motivated Balinese teenagers to make their individual dreams come true and to give them the ingredients to eventually support their families and communities and to be part of a positive development of their homeland.
Smart, self-motivated and well-educated youngsters are the messengers of a lasting development and will represent the richness of a country and the future of a responsible society.
