How we help

In Tembok there are between 10 to 20 students each year who are not able to attend Junior Secondary School although school fees are paid by the Indonesian government. As the secondary school is not in Tembok but in a neighbouring village called Sembirenteng, the students cannot walk to school but are relying on public transport. Furthermore, the students face additional compulsary expenses like school uniforms, books, school material and lunch. All these extra costs add up to about 4.5 Millions Indonesian Rupiah (=about 400 USD) per student per year. An amount, which exceeds the earnings of many families.

AdrikkaStar supports the selected students paying a hundred percent of all these extra costs each year from grade 7 to 9.

Eventually we hope we will be able to support these students further into grade 10 to 12 as to enable them to pursue a tertiary study.
